Beautiful Beginnings

Cynthia Fedrick created the first body balm right in her own kitchen in 2008 for her daughter Imon who suffered from eczema. They consulted various dermatologists and sampled an exhaustive list of creams and lotions. Some left Imon’s skin dry minutes later. Others seemed to be working. But for Cynthia, semi-successful results were not enough. What would truly repair the surface-level skin as well as restore Imon’s skin deep within the epidermis? She began to investigate the ingredients--steroids, hormones, synthetics, and preservatives--and turned away from the pharmacy in search of a natural remedy. “I couldn’t find it, so I created it,” she said.

The recipe began with cocoa and shea butters, olive oil, and vitamin E, ingredients Cynthia new would be the ideal building blocks of her all-natural moisturizer. Over the next few years, Cynthia experimented with different oils to perfect her creation, making it smoother and more luxurious. Although the formula has undergone a transformation, her dedication to all natural-ingredients and the quality of handmade batches has remained constant.

Beautiful Me

When Cynthia perfected the body balm, she began to share her creation with friends and family. Steadily, her passion became a product. She began packaging it for sale and named the company Beautiful Me.  Based on the belief that true beauty is internal, each container was accompanied by an inspirational message. Her body balm was not only making Cynthia’s clients feel beautiful in their skin, it was inspiring them to feel beautiful inside and out.

After years of development, Cynthia has perfected the three steps to the Beautiful Me Trio: REFINE body soap, RENEW body scrub, and RESTORE body balm. Since its debut, the trio has received high praise and earned the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance.

The Beautiful Me Trio inspires women to REFINE their outlook, RENEW their love for life, and RESTORE their confidence. The goal of these products is not to alter our appearance in any way. Rather, the cleanser, scrub and balm help restore and maintain healthy, soft skin that makes a woman feel good. There’s nothing more beautiful than that!

As the company grew, Cynthia reached out to actress and songwriter Sharon Leal about becoming the spokeswoman for Beautiful Me. Drawn toward products that yield natural results, Sharon loved the Beautiful Me trio. But what really connected her to the brand was its dedication to empowering women. She took their connection one step farther and signed on as a partner to the company.

Beautiful Me is run on a “not just for profit” business model, meaning it dedicates revenue and resources for workshops with girls and women to build character and confidence.  Because the Beautiful Me line fosters both inner and outer beauty, it is steadily gaining momentum as a movement for women to “love the me they see.”

When Cynthia first approached me in 2011 about becoming the Spokesperson, I loved the products and the message, but I wanted to be much more than a spokesperson; I wanted to add my touch to the products and to become a part of the message and the vision and a partner.  The products have worked wonders for my skin. I am excited to spread the word.
